Elliott Josi - Chief Executive Officer
Elliott's background includes leadership experience in the renewable energy development industry. His first renewable energy involvement was spearheading development of one of the first medium-Btu landfill projects in the United States, which supplied processed methane gas to a 40MW cogeneration facility.
He also brings over 15 years of software industry experience. As Global Executive Vice President of Strategic Accounts at Netfish Technologies, an early-stage Web software provider, he led teams to win strategic business with Intel, Cisco, HP, NTT-Japan, Siemens, UCC, and Visa. The enterprise value impact of working with these partners was recognized as a primary driver to his employer being acquired during his tenure in a $270 Million transaction.
Additional experience includes CEO, advisory and corporate development roles in early-stage Internet companies (GeoG2, InFreeDA and Virtual Enterprise Solutions) and Global 500 ones (HP, United Technologies and McKesson). He has also led corporate banking and project finance teams at Wells Fargo & Company. Other experiences include industry event presentations and consortia leadership roles. He is a father of three sons, a local education task force leader, and an active school fundraiser.
Elliott is a graduate of University of California, Berkeley, and Harvard Business School.
Penny Dyer, Ph.D. - Chief Solutions Officer
Penny directs the product, materials, and professional development for Schools Power. She has over 30 years of experience in the field of education, most recently serving as CEO of Curriculum Design Institute (CDI), a curriculum and instructional development company.
Dr. Dyer taught at the K-12 levels as an English teacher, Reading/Language Specialist, and school district administrator. Penny coordinated the Advanced Reading and Language Leadership program at UC Berkeley and the Reading Specialist Program at CSU Fresno. She also was Chair of the Education Department at John F. Kennedy University.
Through Curriculum Design Institute, Dr. Dyer has delivered and designed professional development programs for educational textbook publishers, software publishers, and professional development companies as well as for technology hardware companies (e.g., Apple Computer, Scholastic, Houghton Mifflin, SEE College Prep, Curriki (Math), Grockit, Teachscape, Riverdeep Software, Casio Education) and for numerous school districts throughout the United States.
Dr. Dyer earned an M.A. in English and Linguistics at CSU Chico and a Ph.D. in Instruction and Curriculum in Math, Science, and Technology Education from the Graduate School of Education at University of California, Berkeley.
Gaben Chancellor - Chief Design Officer
Gaben is an award-winning marketing director, human user interface and graphic designer, hardware and software designer, writer and producer. Throughout the lifespan of his 2 design companies, he has shipped over 110 media projects, including marketing campaigns, advertising, film and videos, web sites, GUI designs, and video gaming products.
As the CEO of a Consumer Electronics company, Vidiva, he designed products, which were awarded mobile design awards and helped industry leaders visualize a world of connected products as of yet unimagined.
He is an award-winning creative director and has worked with companies such as Apple, NetApp, B.B. King, Intel, and Dolby Labs.
Lydia Passannante - Chief Experience Officer
Lydia is a designer, user experience specialist, new business development consultant, art director, scriptwriter, and brand and message specialist. Traditional art skills, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of the psychology of the consumer augment her diverse talents. Her skills include: product and concept development, project direction, creative and technical writing, front-end web design, corporate identity, marketing and advertising collateral development, and video direction and production.
Her client list has included technology giants and large corporations such as Dolby Labs, Zoran Corporation, NetApp, Allied Waste Management, and many others.
Lydia earned her B.A. degree from the University of California, Irvine.
Anne L. Fetter, Ph.D., - Chief Statistician & Researcher
Anne oversees the evaluative and data-driven decision-making components that are designed to investigate the efficacy of our curriculum and recommend areas for improvements. This includes the overall scientifically based research design focusing on the behaviors and performance of both students and teachers. She directs staff and independent consultants in non-biased third-party evaluation and reports about performance and accountability.
Dr. Fetter also serves as a Dissertation Chair, Advisor and Faculty member for doctoral students in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at a University of Phoenix. She also acts as the Chief Statistician & Research Methodologist at ITTT Inc., and has been a Principal at Research Consulting & Design for 25 years. Previously, she has served as a Faculty Member at University of Phoenix, Chief Statistician & Research Methodologist at LeapFrog SchoolHouse, and Manager, Research at LeapFrog SchoolHouse.
Dr. Fetter earned a Ph.D. in Developmental and Educational Psychology (Specialty in Research Methodology and Statistics), from Boston College in 1997, a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education, from the University of New Hampshire in 1993, and a B.A. in Economics, from Williams College, 1985.
Bill Goforth - Chief Sales & Marketing Officer
Bill is a veteran Ed Tech sales and marketing executive with expertise in education's K-12 and Higher Education segments. Even before graduating from Youngstown State University he began his professional career as a middle school teacher and later transitioned to education sales.
Bill has been a leading sales and marketing executive at Apple, Gateway, Autodesk, Literacy First, and Lesson Planet where he successfully sold solutions ranging from enterprise software, professional development, curriculum software, hardware and textbooks. As a hands-on manager/trainer he demonstrates know-how from conception to implementation and program maintenance.
He has been the originator of high impact education solutions that have had lasting effect in the education market. His marketing expertise focuses on creating market leadership through programs that advance the most critical learning and enterprise issues facing schools today.
David Traub - Chief Evangelist
David has pursued a career-long commitment to bringing mental and emotional health education to kids of all ages via informal entertainment interfaces. These activities include founding of School-EQ.com, a content company dedicated to developing entertainment-embedded mental health curriculum for K-12, and CareerPlay, a company dedicated to delivering "green career" economic and job development curriculum to K-12 students.
David is also co-founder of Unityfor.org, Unity For Foundation, an ethically-direct non-profit developing a '100% financially transparent' rock philanthropy dedicated to using the power of entertainment to address Humanity's greatest challenges, and an education fellow with the philanthropic venture entity Full Circle Fund.
David earned a M.Ed. in 1990 from Harvard Graduate School of Education, while conducting simultaneous class work at the MIT Media Lab. In 1984 he earned his undergraduate degrees in rhetoric and film with honors from the University of California at Berkeley, concluding with an honor thesis focusing on the use of film and television in education.
Christine Palmer, M.A. - Business Development Consultant
Christine brings 25 years of successful sales leadership and marketing expertise in K-12 educational software solutions and services. Combining strong consultative selling skills and a deep knowledge of educational reform initiatives, K-12 curriculum, pedagogy and technology integration, she has established multiple strategic accounts at the state and district level and transformed customer relations into valued, effective working partnerships.
She has led sales and partnership teams to develop high level relationships and implement innovative and effective curriculum and professional development programs in schools and districts across the United States, including several of the largest school districts in California, Nevada, and other western states. With an emphasis on assisting districts with integrating curriculum, assessment and instruction, she has facilitated improvements in targeted performance areas for both large, well-established educational software publishers and related consultative service providers and smaller, rapidly growing ones. These include Teachscape Inc., Edgenuity, Riverdeep, Inc./Houghton Mifflin, Inc., Curriculum Advantage, Interactive Health Systems, Davidson & Associates, and Ideal Learning, Inc.,
Christine taught at the K-12 level as Reading Specialist / ESL Teacher and Computer Resource Teacher. She earned a M.A, from San Francisco State University in Elementary Education. She is also a graduate of University of Denver in English.
